There really was no escaping Nemo this weekend - we hope that you had as much fun with your kids in the snow as we did. We love seeing how happy kids are in the snow - it's the simple things in life that are the best, and are most definitely what lovely memories are made of!
Snow Day is in Effect for Saturday, February 9, 2013. As the snow falls, NYC Parks is at the ready with winter fun! During times of heavy snowfall, NYC Parks may offer a snow day, which is a day of free organized recreation in several parks throughout the city.

Mardi Gras For The Byrant Park Kids! Celebrate the carnival season with a decadent Mardi Gras party for the kids at Le Carrousel in Bryant Park. The festivities planned include a magic show by Carrousel Magique favorite R.J. Lewis, candy coins, mask bedazzling, and bead catching. Wear your green, gold and purple finery to join the Bryant Park Krewe in a Mardi Gras celebration with music provided by Dr. Zsa’s Powdered Zydeco Band. The party's on Saturday, Feb 9 from 1pm-2pm.

Free Family Arts Festival @ The Anderson School Performances from Wingspan Arts school programs and Conservatory students will run “Mainstage” in the auditorium; while in other rooms they will have master classes in visual arts, step, puppetry and other interactive art forms.

David Weinstone and The Music for Aardvarks Band will perform two concerts for kids at The Jewish Museum on Sunday, February 10 at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm. Families will hear favorite songs that celebrate being a kid in New York City such as City Kid, Taxi, Jack Hammer Joe and Modern Art. David Weinstone, founder of Music for Aardvarks, explains, "our shows are rockin', and we try to have as much audience participation as possible. We've even had kids come up on stage with us to sing or dance."
