Four original productions to be showcased in NYC April 24 to May 17, 2015
The New York Children's Theater Festival has announced the shows selected for its fourth season. The four productions are The Sock Who Lost His Mate; Sue Ology & the (Possibly) Haunted House; Help Save the Monkey!; and The Meanest Birthday Girl.
In making the announcement, The New York Children's Theater Festival co-founder Michael Shawn Lewis said, “Heading into our fourth season is exciting for us! We will be presenting four productions after receiving an incredible selection of new work during our submission period. There's also big buzz around here for us, as the 2015 Festival will have a new venue to call home, The Player’s Theatre in Greenwich Village. We are very happy to be working in this gem of a theater, which already has established itself as a wonderful venue for family entertainment.
How to Stop Thumb Sucking
For many parents, looking after their children can be quite an easy thing to deal with. You can tend to their needs and make sure they never go without food or water whenever they need it. With a bit of extra financial security, you can provide them with numerous extras in life that will make them that little happier and more comfortable. However, some parents can go a little too far in letting their child live a free spirited life and this can lead to thumb sucking becoming more than just a cute habit as a child.
Grammy Award winner Pharrell Williams’s super-hit song “Happy” will now be a picture book, to be published on September 22, 2015.
Nominated for an Academy Award in 2014, “Happy” hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, and has topped the charts in more than seventy-five countries worldwide.
WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Central Park Zoo is celebrating the arrival of New York City’s first royal baby – a king penguin chick.
The chick is the first king penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) ever hatched in New York City. The landmark hatching is the result of the expertise and careful husbandry techniques practiced by the zoo’s keepers and curatorial staff.
“This hatching is a wonderful accomplishment for our staff. It will be a treat to watch this penguin mature,” said Craig Piper, WCS Director of City Zoos. “This was the first year that the king penguin chicks were old enough to potentially produce a fertile egg and we’re thrilled that conditions proved right for them to incubate, hatch, and care for the chick.”
