Celebrate 125 Years of the Bronx Zoo With New Walking Trail, Animal Chronicles

On Saturday, April 20, Animal Chronicles, a new immersive walking trail celebrating the Bronx Zoo’s history of saving animals, opens. Thirteen enchanting scenes containing sixty-eight eco-sculptures created using natural materials such as stones, wood, and moss tell the tale. Enjoy uplifting conservation success stories illustrated by these stunning animal sculptures while exploring nature and being outdoors. What better way to celebrate Earth Day!

On the last two weekends in April (20-21 and 27-28), there will be fun celebrations at the zoo, including parades, special performances, crafts, Wildlife Theater, and more, to mark this significant milestone. The theme for April is the Bronx Zoo’s history, featuring period characters, historic menu items, music and dance through the decades, and birthday cake!

The seasonal exhibits, including Butterfly Garden, Children’s Zoo Farmyard, and Budgie Landing, are open, and the park is bursting with new life. Enjoy a wildlife adventure discovering over 11,000 animals and 265 acres of hardwood forest this Spring Break. For tips to help plan your visit, see the Spring Break Itinerary Guide.

Reserve your tickets to the festivities before they sell out! We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
