Located on the riverfront at 21 South End Avenue in Battery Park City, Battery Park Montessori is New York’s first trilingual Montessori school offering Spanish, Mandarin, and English language immersive experiences.

We know that our youngest learners need to be in a secure, attentive, loving, and nurturing environment – akin to their own family – to cultivate a positive sense of self.  Our Nursery Ones program aims to support children in their natural development. Caring, compassionate, and highly skilled early childhood education teachers are always there to gently comfort and assist children and encourage them to be exploratory and curious learners.

Our Nursery Ones program provides a rich environment for developing language and learning sounds at a time when sounds are readily absorbed. English, Mandarin, and Spanish vocabulary of objects, activities, and feelings pervades every aspect of our program in a naturally immersive way.

The Nursery Twos program is designed to create a gentle transition from Nursery Ones, or a child’s home, to their first school experience. Our highly skilled and Montessori trained teachers guide our youngest children through a curriculum which respects their transition and addresses all aspects of their development by nurturing them intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.

From ages three to six years old, children are in a receptive and explosive stage of learning. Children are eager to self-construct knowledge, skills, and social graces through hands-on learning, and community interactions. Our Casa classrooms are specially designed environments, rich with materials that serve to meet and enhance the natural learning inclinations of children. Each Casa is specifically laid out to invite children to discover and interact with the materials intentionally designed to encourage understanding and mastery.

Physical activity is an important part of our program at every age, and we provide ample opportunities to work on fine and gross motor skills by using our indoor treehouse and  beautifully appointed outdoor patio and garden area. At the heart of our program are our Montessori-credentialed and trained teachers who have extensive experience and educational backgrounds in early childhood education. They skillfully nurture and foster each child's independence, natural curiosity, and problem-solving abilities.
