At Creative Steps, we embody the belief that children learn best through play. Children in our care are encouraged to become self-directed, build curiosity, and solve problems. Our approach sparks imagination, supports children’s language, develops social emotional skills, and enhances their cognitive, math, and spatial awareness.

With five spacious classrooms, we welcome children from 12 months through four years of age. Our teacher to student ratio is kept low, securing individualized care and attention. We work on building strong relationships and teaching our young ones life skills. We support the whole child in their growth across all developmental domains. Children learn to collaborate, be part of a community, and build lifelong relationships.

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, we have access to some of the best parks, playgrounds and gardens. Our neighborhood walks are never dull with so much to see and do! Children who attend Creative Steps also enjoy two nutritious meals and a snack every day.

For many children and their families, we know Creative Steps may be their first exposure to a school environment, and we want it to be one filled with success, growth and joy. With the understanding that parents and caregivers are a child’s primary educator, our partnership with families is full of collaboration and open communication.

Creative Steps is part of University Settlement, a mission-driven non-profit that is one of the leading providers of early childhood education in New York City.

Our program follows a school year calendar, with extended day and summer programming. We have Universal Pre-Kindergarten and private tuition fees for enrollment, and we are proud to offer one of the most affordable private options for childcare in Lower Manhattan.

We invite parents and caregivers to visit our website and fill out our inquiry form as a way of learning more about our program.
