Our award-winning family-style music classes include a mix of original and traditional tunes from a variety of genres and styles—folk, blues, rock, jazz, classical, and world music, and are the perfect way to bond with your child while stimulating their cognitive, physical & emotional development through musical play.

As you research classes to send your new baby to, you may find yourself asking, “is my newborn too young for a music class?” The answer is no. Babies enjoy and relate to music as soon as they are born, and our early childhood music curriculum has decades of research behind it, in both music education and child development. Because we recognize that children learn through play, we make everything we do in class engaging and fun.

When enrolled in our program you will receive access to the exclusive Music Together App and songbook featuring a semester's worth of songs and musical play activities to use at home each day. Our songs will become go-to jams for your baby and parents alike (yes they’ll get stuck in your head but you won’t be mad about it!). You’ll find yourself referencing our memorable melodies throughout the day whether you’re jamming out with your little one or trying to calm them down during a stroller meltdown.

Classes are year round. We have 10 week semesters in Fall, Winter & Spring. Summer is a 6 week semester. Indoor & outdoor locations offered in Murray Hill, Gramercy Park, Chelsea, Hudson Yards, West Village, East Village, Tribeca, Financial District, and Battery Park City. Private group classes in your home can also be arranged.

What Is Music Together®?
Music Together is an early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through kindergarten—and the grownups who love them! First offered in 1987, our music classes help little ones develop their innate musicality—and much, much more.

Whoa. Music for babies?! 
Yes! Nothing stimulates a baby's brain like music! And little babies are like sponges- soaking up all kinds of information around them! From small finger-play songs, to large jumping & swinging songs, your trained teacher will lead you through a variety of activities, facilitating fun and creative ways for you to interact musically with your baby, while stimulating her cognitive, physical & emotional development. Your teacher can explain the ‘whys’ behind the ‘whats’ and point out emerging musical behaviors in your baby. And because we recognize that children learn through play, we make everything we do in class engaging and fun.

As a parent, you pay attention to every move your baby makes. Have you noticed their eyes light up when they hear a song? Do they start cooing and wiggling when you sing a nursery rhyme? Chances are you've seen glimpses of the music-maker inside—now it's up to you to bring it out to the fullest!

Since babies are musical beings even before birth, it’s never too early to get started—even newborns are amazingly oriented to become music-makers. Because they begin to hear and respond to sound in the womb, most babies’ sense of hearing is well developed at birth, and they are already alert to musical sounds—especially the voice of a parent singing! Just as your baby is prepared to learn language, they are equally prepared to learn music.

We're All About Family
Our family music classes show parents, teachers, and caregivers how to help their children become confident music-makers just by having fun making music themselves. This engaging class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together.

Each family enrolled in the program takes home a beautifully illustrated songbook and a digital download in our Music Together app. Our award-winning music includes nine different song collections. Every semester all the music is brand new, making it exciting and fun to enroll your child in our program for a minimum of 3 years.
