Meet the Wildlife Who Share our Waters, Land and Skies
NYC is home to fascinating wildlife, both above and below the surface of the Hudson River. At SUBMERGE, you’ll have the chance to meet local fish — like seahorses, oyster toadfish and striped bass — turtles, birds of prey (including tiny owls) and more.
Laugh and Learn at the Science Stage
Check out live performances from Jacqueline Means the STEM Queen and David Engel’s Captain Nemo Adventure Academy on the Science Stage. These STEM-powered shows are fun, interactive and educational demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy.
Dive into Experiments & Hands-on Demos
Stop by science stations throughout the festival where you can learn from dozens of partner organizations and local experts from all over NYC. Look through a microscope at plankton, learn to steer underwater robots and much more.
Get Out on the Water
Take your SUBMERGE experience beyond the shoreline. Try kayaking on the Hudson River with Manhattan Kayak Co. or cast a line with our River Project team at Big City Fishing. Whether you’re paddling for the first time or reeling in your next catch, these hands-on activities offer new ways to experience NYC’s coastal waters firsthand.
