Street Arts: An Earth Day Celebration
Saturday April 24, 12noon – 5:30pm
West 103rd Open Street between West End Avenue & Broadway

StreetopiaUWS, Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance, and the West 103rd Street Open Streets Community Coalition announce “Street Arts: An Earth Day Celebration.” This festive afternoon of dance, art and music will demonstrate the healing qualities and joyful expression that happen when neighbors come together in community.

The program includes performances by Jody Sperling/Time Lapse Dance, jill sigman/thinkdance, the Max Dolgin Trio Plus, Songs to Inspire with Chelsie Nectow and Eric Parker, and Met Orchestra Musicians. The All Street Journal will be orchestrating participatory muralling while Bridge for Dance and Harmony by Karate offer free family classes.

Butterfly Yoga on Zoom!

In this special class, kids will learn about the butterfly lifecycle and transform into butterflies themselves! We’ll go from caterpillars, to chrysalis, to butterfly as we spread our own wings and fly! We’ll take an adventure to the magical Butterfly Garden to celebrate springtime, meet some creatures, see what Mother Nature has created for us, and learn about the marvelous metamorphosis of our friend, the butterfly! Costumes and wings are encouraged but not necessary.

Queens Botanical Garden is hosting its first ever Flower Patch, an intimate experience among spring flowers on Sundays, April 25, May 2, and May 9 (Mother’s Day)!

Unique floral and garden creature installations transform the QBG Farm into a fantastic flower spectacle creating an immersive environment and stunning backdrop for photos. Pick your own pot of flowers to take home with you, and a floral themed grab-and-go craft activity kit. Fee includes general Garden admission and entry to the Patch.
