Weekend Events for NYC Kids October 5 & 6

Can you believe it’s October already? And, we have another weekend of fun ahead in NYC for families – below are some kid-friendly options for this weekend, October 5 & 6, 2019

Saturday October 5
WATSON ADVENTURES’ WIZARD SCHOOL SCAVENGER HUNT 2: THE MUSEUM OF MAGICAL HISTORY

Join Watson Adventures on a Harry Potter-themed scavenger hunt for ages 10 and up! Embark on a new wizarding adventure for Harry Potter fans at the American Museum of Natural History where you’ll search for exhibits that echo characters, places and enchanted objects in the books and movies of the Harry Potter universe. Be prepared to track fantastic beasts through a forbidden (rain)forest, dance with Hagrid-like giants, encounter a cute cousin of dragons, stalk hunters scarier than any auror, and more. The hunt is not an addition to or variation on Harry’s adventures, but instead references to the books will provide a surprising bridge to many strange and wonderful exhibits. Kids must be accompanied by an adult, but all-adult teams can compete separately. Advance purchase is required. Questions? Call 877-9GO-HUNT.

Sunday October 6
PICKLE DAY

Pickle Day takes place annually in New York’s historic Lower East Side neighborhood and is the world’s first pickle festival. Come on down to Orchard Street, October 6th, 2019.

Pickle Day is a slice of the city’s history, reminiscent of when the streets of the Lower East Side were lined with pushcarts peddling their goods and wares for sale to a neighborhood of from immigrants from far and wide. What began in 1999, as a small fair of merchants in an old parking lot on Broome Street is now a 3-block festival that recreates the original market that previously positioned the Lower East Side as ‘The Bargain District.’

Orchard St, New York, NY 10002
Noon – 9:30pm
