The Best of Halloween 2020 for NYC Kids

Halloween this year will inevitably be different, but we are delighted to share some fabulous events that will be taking place. Our kids can still enjoy this wonderful time of the year, and you can be sure that all safety measures have been put in place to ensure that they do. Please do note that these events may change at short notice, so keep an eye out for any updates. Also, please be aware that some events will sell out fast as timed entry for many is in place.


Boo at the Zoo

Boo is the perfect opportunity to dress up in your wildest costume and join us for some not-too-spooky fun at the zoo. Family-friendly activities include: a MASKerade, magic and mind reading shows, pumpkin carving, and a mobile scavenger hunt. Pick up some sweet treats from our staff on the Candy Trail, or wander through professionally carved jack o’lanterns on the pumpkin trail.

Our annual Halloween tradition is back at the Bronx Zoo. We have family-friendly activities and have taken all safety precautions for you to have a great experience. Come dressed in your Halloween best and enjoy!

Ghost-plagued places include the Hollywood Hotel where Marilyn Monroe and other celeb ghosts haven’t checked out; the White House in search of presidential ghosts, and the Salem Witch Trial Memorial where you’ll learn the chilling fate of Giles Corey, just to name a few.

Town Square’s Pumpkin Day

Town Square’s beloved Pumpkin Day is back!  Outdoor fun on the Brooklyn waterfront. Pick your own pumpkin. Decorate it with paints, glitter, and colorful ribbons. Enjoy arts and crafts and other fun activities with your family. What a fun way to celebrate the fall! All children, including babies, must have a Pumpkin ticket. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Pick the hour of your choice when purchasing your ticket and families will be allowed into the pumpkin patch, up to 25 kids at a time. After you leave the pumpkin patch with your pumpkin, head over to one of the many pumpkin decorating stations and enjoy the fun!

Video games are taking over the Microsoft office in Times Square for an all-out Expo celebrating local developers! Join us for a day of games and fun. All ages are welcome. We hope you can join us for our annual Halloween expo!

Game developers will be showing off their latest games. For developers, this is a great opportunity to show off their games (finished or unfinished) and get direct feedback from players. For everyone else, it’s a unique opportunity to try out the biggest collection of games made in and around NYC all in one place. There will be a costume contest! We encourage everyone to dress (appropriately, no real or fake weapons!) and get into the Halloween spirit.

Prospect Park Alliance invites all local ghosts and ghouls to the 40th Annual Halloween Haunted Walk and Fair! This much-anticipated annual event brings thousands of kids and families for free, ghastly fun to Prospect Park. Encounter zombies, werewolves, witches and other Halloween spirits on a haunted walk through the woodland Lookout Hill, ideal for families with children ages 7-12. All ages can enjoy a festive Halloween Fair on the Nethermead, featuring family-friendly activities, as well as sweet and savory treats from some of the city’s top food trucks.
