New York Botanical Garden Summer Camps

The New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) offers a variety of immersive summer camps, set within NYBG’s expansive 250-acre grounds. These camps provide hands-on experiences in nature, science, and gardening.

2025 Summer Camp Offerings

Nature Camp
Designed for children entering Pre-K and Kindergarten, this camp introduces young explorers to the natural world through woodland walks, sensory play, and nature crafts. Activities are centered around the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden.

Green Thumbs Gardening Camp
For children entering grades 1–6, this camp focuses on hands-on gardening activities. Campers will investigate plant growth, learn about sustainability, and participate in culinary and crafting projects using produce from the Edible Academy’s gardens

Science Camp
Also for grades 1–6, Science Camp offers outdoor adventures including hiking, experimenting, and art projects. Weekly themes explore topics like botany, woodland ecosystems, and wetlands.

Field Science Camp
Tailored for students entering grades 7–8, this program delves into field research techniques. Campers will study plant and animal life, collect data, and learn about ongoing research at NYBG and beyond.
