04 Jun New Play Area in Hudson River Park
Hudson River Park just keeps growing!
As part of the Park’s dedication to all New Yorkers, a marine science-focused play area at Pier 26 will begin construction in 2022. This play area will feature custom, interactive sculptural elements for children to learn, play and be inspired by wildlife and the Hudson River habitat. Designed by the award-winning OLIN landscape architects (who also designed Pier 26), over 4,000 square feet will serve as an outdoor extension of the environmental programming planned at the future Hudson River Estuarium and the ecology-focused Pier 26.
This is a big project—and it will only be possible with help from Park users like you. HRPK Friends Board Chair, Michael E. Novogratz, has generously pledged a challenge match to complete this state-of-the-art play area as soon as possible. In order to maximize this historic gift to HRPK Friends, we need to raise an additional $100,000 from dedicated Park users by October 7, 2021. Meet the match today so tomorrow kids can learn to play and play to learn!
