03 Dec Hanukkah Family Day at The Jewish Museum
On Sunday, December 15 from 11 am to 4 pm, The Jewish Museum presents our popular annual Hanukkah Family Day featuring art activities and music geared towards children ages 3 and up and their adult companions. The day includes an art workshop where kids can design whimsical Hanukkah menorah sculptures with found objects and collaborate on a giant menorah; a retelling of the Hanukkah story through a drawing performance; still life painting in the Museum’s art studio; and an opportunity to make sketches of Hanukkah lamps from around the globe while on a gallery tour. The event also includes two performances by kindie rockers Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights, at 11:30 am and 2 pm.
New this year is a collaboration with The GIANT Room, an education innovator, helping kids to create light objects using LEDs and other materials.
This family day is free with Museum admission ($18 for adults; $12 for seniors, 65 and over); admission is free for children 18 and under.
