18 May Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Comes to the Bronx Zoo This Summer
Families have a brand-new reason to visit the Bronx Zoo this summer, as the beloved PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood arrives for an all-new immersive experience running from May 22 through September 7, 2026.
Designed especially for young children and families, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood at the Bronx Zoo combines hands-on play, live entertainment, and wildlife discovery in what is being described as a world-first collaboration between the zoo and Fred Rogers Productions. The experience is included with Bronx Zoo admission or membership.
Little fans of Daniel Tiger can climb aboard the very first life-sized Trolley, explore a playful Nature Walk, enjoy interactive music stations inspired by sounds from the animal kingdom, and pick up a free bilingual activity book available in English and Spanish. The experience has been designed to be accessible and welcoming for children of all ages and abilities.
There will also be live performances featuring Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, plus special meet-and-greet opportunities and themed photo spots throughout the zoo. Families can step through the “Tunnel of Make-Believe,” pose with favourite characters from the show, and discover fun ways to connect animal habitats with the lessons and values children know from the series.
The experience blends imaginative play with wildlife education, encouraging children to explore nature, animals, and kindness through interactive activities across the zoo’s grounds. In addition to the Daniel Tiger attractions, visitors can also enjoy everything else the Bronx Zoo has to offer, including more than 11,000 animals spread across 265 acres.
This looks set to become one of NYC’s standout family attractions of summer 2026 – especially for preschoolers and younger elementary-aged children who already love Daniel Tiger’s world of songs, routines, and gentle life lessons.
