Child’s Play NY’s award-winning theater classes get kids playing, connecting and acting together! Whether in-person or on-line, the programming supports young people’s social-emotional learning and creativity. Vibrant teaching artists infuse joy into the classes while challenging curriculum inspires kids to grow their skills. Child’s Play NY has been selected as a top theater arts-program by Backstage, New York Parents and Red Tricycle. Their games and resources are used by Mt Sinai Parenting as a tool for families and they are the chosen theater provider at dozens of high-ranking schools in NYC. Below are available class options for fall 2020:
In-Person Play Pods – Games Class for ages 4-6 and 7-9
Child’s Play NY curriculum supports vital well-being as kids experience playing in-person. Groups are capped at 5 students and games are socially-distant while still being engaging, physical and artistic. Teaching artists work to support children through a range of experiences, prioritizing peer-connection, gross-motor release and empowering new artistic skills.
Play Pod classes meet in selected parks in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Families have the option to make a private play pod group as well.
Virtual Production Classes for grades 1-8
Kids work together on a production that will be rehearsed and filmed over Zoom. They are cast in a play and work with a director, choreographer and music coach to bring the play to life. The final premiere showcases and celebrates the experience.

Virtual Drop In and Scene Study Classes for Grades PreK-12
Kids develop characters and collaborate with actors and directors for a showcase they can be proud of:
- Mini Musical: Under the Sea for PreK-K
- Hogwarts School Scene Study for Grades 1-3
- Musical Theater Dance for Grades 1-3
- Musical Theater Lab for Grades 4-6
- Playwriting for Grades 4-6
- Shakespeare Scene Study for Grades 9-12
