13 Jan Child’s Play NY Summer Camps
Budding thespians of all levels get to flex their imaginative muscles, practice their bravery, and learn sophisticated theater techniques in this award-winning drama camp. Whether waving wands or belting show tunes, campers are supported by a team of nurturing professional acting teachers. Weekly themes in Brooklyn and Manhattan locations feature superheroes, mythology, and fairy tales as well as sessions inspired by Frozen, Harry Potter and The Lion King.
Offering full and half-day sessions, days are jam-packed with rehearsals, imaginative games and movement. Campers kick off the day with small-group sessions to shake any stage jitters, then jump into improvisation and rehearsal. In addition to the work in gorgeous studios, full day camps offer outside time. The focused age-groups and small group sessions (1:4 ratio of teacher to student, with a cap of 16 campers) make for a truly personalized experience. Kids even get involved in stage-craft: older students do scenic design and younger campers craft their own props to use for the final show.
Small groups, beautiful theater studios and live musicians set this camp apart. Every week culminates in a final performance where kids can radiate their new-found confidence and skills in a dazzling show.
