Brooklyn Museum Summer Camp

Ages 8–13

Calling young artists! Set out on an expressive adventure this summer. Inspired by our exhibitions and collections, campers will discover renowned artists, experiment with various mediums, and try out new techniques, all while bonding with fellow art-lovers and having a blast. After five days of art-making, camp concludes with an Open Studio, where we’ll showcase our masterpieces and let imagination take center stage.

Summer 2024 schedule:
Mondays–Fridays, July 1–August 9 (except July 4)
9 am–4 pm (plus optional After Camp, 4–6 pm)

  • July 1–3 and 5: Painting and photography inspired by Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys (no camp July 4)
  • July 8–12: Painting and animation inspired by Brooklyn Abstraction: Four Artists, Four Walls
  • July 15–19: Sculpture and animation inspired by our ancient Egyptian art collection
  • July 22–26: Painting and photography inspired by our American art collection
  • July 29–August 2: Printmaking and animation inspired by Hiroshige’s 100 Famous Views of Edo (feat. Takashi Murakami)
  • August 5–9: Drawing and photography inspired by Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm

Weekly themes and dates are subject to change. Summer camp will be divided into two age groups (8–10 and 11–13). Campers bring their own lunches and snacks.
