Queens Zoo Summer Camp

Queens Zoo Summer Camp

The Queens Zoo Summer Camp, located in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, offers a variety of nature- and animal-themed programs for children from toddlers to middle schoolers. Running from June 16 to August 29, 2025, the camp provides age-specific sessions that combine hands-on learning with fun, outdoor activities focused on wildlife and conservation.

For the youngest children, the Toddler Time program is designed for kids aged 18 months to 3 years and a caregiver. These 90-minute morning sessions run from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with weekly themes such as Animal Senses (June 16–20) and Home Sweet Home (June 23–27). The cost is $216 for Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) members and $240 for non-members. Each ticket covers both the child and their caregiver.

Zoo Tykes is a drop-off program for preschoolers aged 3–4 (Pre-K). Sessions run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and include themes like Barnyard Bonanza (June 23–27) and Birds of Play (July 21–25 and August 18–22). The fee is $306 for members and $340 for non-members. These sessions are led by zoo educators and include stories, songs, crafts, and visits to animal exhibits.

Children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade can enroll in the Week of Wildlife camp, which runs full-day from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The program includes themes such as Animals Like Us and Wild Animal Music, with several sessions offered throughout the summer. The cost is $558 for members and $620 for non-members.

For kids in Grades 3–5, the Zoo Explorers program also runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Weekly themes include Forces of Nature and Wild by Design, where campers explore topics like animal adaptations, natural disasters, and how animals build their habitats. Prices for these sessions are the same as those for the K–2 camp.

Older campers in Grades 6–8 can attend the Junior Scientist program during the week of August 18–22. The theme, Conservation Scientists, allows students to engage more deeply with wildlife topics, including research methods, environmental issues, and conservation solutions. This program also runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and costs $558 (members) or $620 (non-members).

Extended care is available for full-day campers from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM for an additional fee of $180 (members) or $200 (non-members) for a full five-day session. Activities during this time include animal-themed games, nature walks, and visits to exhibits.

Parents must provide a nut-free lunch and snack, a refillable water bottle, and weather-appropriate clothing each day. Campers will receive a camp t-shirt on the first day, which they are encouraged to wear daily.
