92Y Presents “Countdown to Camp Event” for New York Metro-Area Families

Sunday, February 13, 10 am-12 pm

With Staff to Answer Parents’ Questions and Activities for Kids

Getting a head start on summer, the 92nd Street Y will offer New York metro area families a chance to sample its summer camps at a Sunday, Feb. 13 “Countdown to Camp” event.

The event, from 10 am-12 pm at 92Y (1395 Lexington Ave.), gives parents a chance to ask 92Y camp staff any and all questions about its programs—and it includes several activities for kids ages 3-11: crafts, sports (including Super Soccer Stars), coding and robotics, art, and Zing! Fitness. In addition, 92Y’s beloved camp mascot, Yomi Bear, will make a special appearance.

Families must R.S.V.P to attend, at Camp Events – 92Y, New York

92Y’s camps – a wide range that covers ages 3-14— include: Camp Yomi, its flagship general interest in Rockland County; Trailblazers, a day-travel program; Ilanot, a Hebrew immersion program; Tova and Bari Tov, for children with special needs; Camp Pride, a one-week program for LGBTQ+ children; and short-term baseball and soccer camps, among others.

“Given what we’ve lived through these past two years, kids need camp more than ever – to make new friends, discover new interests, and get a taste of independence – not to mention the freedom of the great outdoors,” said Lauren Wexler, 92Y Director of Children’s Enrichment and Engagement. “This event is geared toward families who are still sorting through the questions of camp or no camp – and what kind of camp is best for their child.”
