At Kane Street Kids, we encourage children and families to come as they are– we support you and your child through the stages and phases of early childhood development. Relationships are at the heart of our work with young children, and we create trusting bonds with the children in our care as well as all of the adults in their lives. We believe that a child’s parents and guardians are their first teachers. Before children ever set foot into our building, they have already learned so much from all of you. This is why we love to collaborate with families–you are the expert on your child, which is why we value open and consistent communication with all of the important adults in your child’s life.
Infant & Toddler Programming
KSK offers Babies & Bagels, a meetup group for parents and guardians with babies ages 0-6 months centered around offering community and support for families with newborns and infants with visits from local providers. We also offer a toddler music and play program for children ages 7-23 months and their grown-ups to enjoy drumming, dancing, bubbles, and more! In addition, we offer a Gentle Separation Program on Tuesday and Thursdays mornings from 9:00-10:30am for children who turn 2 between January 1-June 1 of each school year. Children attend with a grown-up until they turn 2, when they practice separating to their KSK teachers.
Preschool Programming
At KSK, children aged 2-5 joyfully engage in co-authored emergent curriculum based in inquiry, problem-solving, and collaboration. Our approach is centered around seeing children as capable individuals with unique interests. Our facility includes both indoor and outdoor play spaces as well as plenty of natural light and relaxed classroom environments.
