The Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade
The Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to honoring those who died during service and supporting veterans, active military and their families. Founded in 1927, we are a non-partisan, non-political organization that strives to remind and educate young people and others of American history and the selfless contributions of veterans to that history by organizing an annual Memorial Day Parade. We also sponsor a student essay and art contest based on the theme of our Memorial Day Parade, inviting students to reflect on our past, present and future as a free and democratic country.
The Little Neck-Douglaston Memorial Day Parade is a quintessentially American home town tradition, organized by ordinary folk from many walks of life: local business-people; working or stay-home moms and dads; retirees and the young.
