Family Art Day: Drop-in Clay Activity Inspired By Kawai Kanjirō: House to House Exhibition

Families with young children are invited to explore Japan Society’s latest exhibition – Kawai Kanjirō: House to House. Best known for his role in the Mingei (folk art) movement, Kawai’s pottery and sculptures introduce young children to find beauty in everyday objects. Pick up a family self-guide sheet to visit the gallery, then drop in and make your own work inspired by Kawai’s works, using air-dry clay. Come explore, create, and discover together!

Registration: This is a drop-in activity. Free with gallery admission. Children 16 and under receive free admission. Advance ticket purchase recommended. Recommended for children ages 3 -10 and accompanying adults. This event will be photographed.

Location:

Japan Society
333 East 47th Street
