Coney Island Sand Sculpting Competition

Each summer, the city’s sand artists descend upon Coney Island Beach for this annual competition. Everyone from novices to professionals is encouraged to participate, and the event is free and open to all ages. Categories include solo artist, adult group, family group and semi-professional (this last one requires preregistration). Winners get tickets to local attractions and cash prizes. The day also features live entertainment, giveaways and family fun on the beach.
