Birding 101
Kids and families, join us for a hands-on exploration of the world of birding. Birding is a free and accessible hobby every New Yorker can do right in their own neighborhood!
In this dynamic program, educators from the Department of Environmental Conservation will introduce participants to the world of birding, including where to bird, what to use while birding, and how to identify different birds. We’ll practice using professional binoculars to identify birds local to New York State.
Then, we’ll venture outside to the Howard Farm (located next door to the library), where our friends at Green City Force will join us as we put our new knowledge to use and Bird outside!
