All Ages Artmaking: Día De Muertos

Artists of all ages are invited to create their own paper pop-up ofrenda inspired by the work of Amalia Mesa-Bains, on view in Shifting Landscapes. Explore the Día de Muertos altar in the Artspace and place a photo of your loved ones that you want to commemorate. Come and create your own ofrenda!

In Cihuateotl, artist Amalia Mesa-Bains shows a spirit woman from an Aztec story. She honors brave mothers that are now special helpers in the spirit world. This artwork reminds us that love and care can last forever, even when someone is no longer with us.
