Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp: 100+ Years of Outdoor Adventure, Leadership, and Lifelong Memories

Riverhead, NY – Registration is now open for Summer 2025 at Dorothy P. Flint 4-H Camp (DPF 4-H Camp), The oldest 4-H camp in New York and a leader in outdoor youth development for over a century! Located on the scenic Long Island Sound, this 140-acre co-ed sleepaway and day camp offers an immersive, screen-free experience where kids ages 5-16 can explore, grow, and create lifelong friendships.

At DPF 4-H Camp, every week is an adventure! Campers enjoy activities such as high ropes, archery, farm and agriculture, swimming, outdoor survival skills, performing and visual arts, sports, and environmental science. Whether they are kayaking on the bay, hiking in the woods, feeding farm animals, or tackling a ropes course, every day is filled with opportunities to build confidence, independence, and leadership skills.

More Than Just a Camp, It’s a Transformational Experience

DPF 4-H Camp is more than just a place to spend the summer, it’s an environment where kids discover who they are and unplug from technology while building friendships that last a lifetime. Each week features themed activities and evening programs like Color Wars, Spirit Competitions, Survivor Challenges, Game Show Night, Dances, and the legendary Camper Carnival that bring the camp community together in exciting ways.

Our goal is to create a fun and safe summer filled with adventure, learning, and self-discovery, we believe camp should be a place where kids can explore new passions, grow their confidence, and experience the joys of the outdoors.

Open to All Youth, No 4-H Membership or Residency Requirement

Operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Nassau County, DPF 4-H Camp is proud to uphold the 4-H mission of leadership, citizenship, and hands-on learning. Families from all over Long Island, NYC, and beyond are welcome, campers do not need to be Nassau County residents or 4-H members to attend.

Register Early & Save!

Families can take advantage of our Early Bird Discount when they register by March 15, 2025:

• Sleepaway Camp: $790 per week (regular $840)
• Day Camp: $525 per week (regularly $550)

Additionally, families can save even more with the Refer-a-Friend Discount: $25 off per camper when a returning family refers a new camper. First-time campers also receive a discount!

Flexible Options for First-Timers & Stay-Over Weekends

Mini-Stay option (Week 1 only) offers a shortened half-week session perfect for first-time sleepaway campers aged 7+, with options to attend Monday-Wednesday or Thursday-Saturday at half the cost of a full session.

For campers staying multiple weeks, Stayover Weekends (after Week 3 & Week 6) provide a relaxed transition between sessions. Instead of heading home, campers enjoy later sleep-ins, brunch, beach Sunday, and recharging activities, ensuring they’re refreshed for another exciting week!
