Budding thespians of all levels get to flex their imaginative muscles and learn sophisticated theater technique in this beloved theater program. Whether belting show tunes or mounting full Shakespeare plays, students from grades 1-8 learn self-expression and the joy of the creative process. Classes are led by trained theater teachers who inspire young people to tap into their intrinsic sense of play through theater. Since its inception in 2009, Child's Play NY has touched the lives of thousands of students in classes, residencies, productions, summer camps and birthday parties.

Child’s Play NY classes are delightfully packed with theater warm-ups, improvisations, games, music, and rehearsals. Children are given free reign to their imaginations and creative impulses while they learn storytelling, movement, and music from professional performers. Cast size is limited to give each student ample opportunity to shine. Classes provide supportive, safe environments where kids can feel free to stretch the limits of their imagination and potential. Weeks of rehearsals culminate in a thrilling live performance.

Upcoming shows include Seussical Kids (grades 1-3), Matilda Jr (grades 4-6), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (grades 3-5) and Metamorphoses (grades 6-8).
