Carnaby hosts the best in early childhood classes for kids below 5 at one location and under one membership umbrella.

Our curated roster serves as a one-stop shop featuring NY  favorites like Puppetsburg and Little Maestros along with home-grown courses that incorporate Reggio, Montessori and proven early childhood education methods.

Preschool Prep:
Our drop-off 90 minutes class is Reggio and Montessori inspired and held twice a week. It focuses on engaging each child’s natural curiosity and imagination to learn the foundations of early literacy, pre-math and other basic principles. We practice gentle separation to ensure the kids are comfortable in a classroom setting.

Our 45-minute Tales and Trails class features games, songs, and activities based on a book. It includes play-based learning to teach the foundations of preschool through creativity and fun!

Our 45-minute STEM class teaches foundational skills in pre-MATH, objects and their interactions with us and basic principles of Science. We incorporate these skills in a play-based setting, so kids have a whole lot of fun while building their knowledge base.

Art:
Art at Carnaby is taught by Private Picassos who offer custom designed classes for different age groups to refine kids’ fine motor skills, improve their verbal and visual vocabularies, and discover new and exciting art techniques. We offer a toddler class and a preschool art class on Mondays.

Music and Movement:
A longtime New York family favorite, Ramblin’ Dan’s Freewheelin’ Band provides high energy and engaging classes driven by playful musicality and skillful guitar work. Kids will jam along on instruments, use various props for activities, read song-based books, learn sign language, do animal-play, and of course clap, dance and sing along.

Little Maestros is a 20 year old award-winning early-childhood educator-approved infant and toddler music program with original interactive activities, a language development segment, musical storytime, imaginative and pretend play, and much more.

Puppetsburg has interactive and culturally relevant puppet shows that involve dancing, instruments, dress-up “photo-ops,” and more, followed by a different puppet story each week.

Active and Physical:
Our toddler movement class promotes focus, stamina and confidence! Each class is child-led to match pace and energy, featuring songs and activities for gross motor and milestone development.

Our Toddler & Me Yoga class on weekends is where children and adults alike build upon and improve strength, flexibility, balance, concentration, bodily awareness, and self-regulation skills for stress through fun yoga adventures.
