20 Oct Ice Skating Returns to Prospect Park with First Skate Weekend!
Looking for a fun family outing this fall? Gather the kids, wrap up warm and get ready for some fun on the ice! The LeFrak Center at Lakeside in Prospect Park is welcoming families back for a new ice skating season with its First Skate Weekend on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2026.
Families can celebrate the return of skating in Brooklyn’s Backyard with a weekend featuring free ice skating lessons, public skating and discounted ice hockey. Whether your little ones are stepping onto the ice for the first time or are already confident skaters, it’s a wonderful way to spend some quality family time together.
The fun doesn’t stop after opening weekend! Lakeside offers public skating on covered and open-air rinks, Learn to Skate classes for all ages, youth hockey programs with the New York Rangers and New York Islanders, and figure skating sessions.
After some fun on the ice, families can warm up with hot chocolate and tasty treats at Duck Island Café.
