Registration Now Open for Free Kids’ Swim Classes in NYC

Registration Open for Free Kids’ Swim Classes in NYC

NYC families can register for free swim classes for children this summer through NYC Parks’ popular Learn to Swim program.

The free program helps children build confidence in the water while learning important swimming and water safety skills. Classes are available at outdoor pools across the five boroughs, giving more families the chance to access lessons close to home.

This summer, NYC Parks has expanded the program to 18 outdoor pool locations, creating thousands of free class spots for young New Yorkers. Lessons are available for children from tots through teens, with age-appropriate classes designed to help swimmers feel more comfortable and capable in the water.

Registration is carried out through a free online lottery. Families should only register for one class per child, and each child must be registered separately. If selected, spots cannot be transferred to another person.

The next registration deadline is Friday, July 24, for Session III, which runs from August 7 through August 21. An advanced child Learn to Swim session will also take place later in August.

With summer in full swing, this is a great opportunity for kids to learn a life skill, stay active and enjoy the city’s outdoor pools safely.
