Upcoming programs for teens ages 13-18 include papermaking, block printing, and “Art on Paper” with Margrethe Aanestad

Scandinavia House is excited to announce a new summer series for teens ages 13-18 beginning July 13! In this workshop series, teens will explore new possibilities and learn practical skills with techniques ranging from sustainable papermaking, to art on paper, to the world of printmaking, with instructors including Daisy Magnusson, Isabella Poutiatine, and Norwegian artist Margrethe Aanestad. All workshops take place on select Mondays and Tuesdays from 12-2:30 PM; all materials are provided.

PAPERMAKING WITH DAISY MAGNUSSON
MON—July 13—12 PM; $35 ($30 ASF Members)
2-Session Bundle for July 13 & 20: $55

Learn about the world of home-made paper in this workshop introducing experimentation, sustainability and material exploration in the arts! Students will gain the knowledge to recreate this process wherever their artistic endeavors take them, whether in the studio or at home. Tickets to this workshop can be purchased individually or bundled with the workshop on July 20.

LINOLEUM BLOCK PRINTING WITH ISABELLA POUTIATINE

2-Session Bundle for July 13 & 20: $55

This workshop offers a general introduction to printmaking as an artistic form, and to the techniques and possibilities of linoleum carving and block printing. Participants will be guided through developing a design, translating it into a linoleum carving and printing it on both paper and fabric. Tickets to this workshop can be purchased individually or bundled with the workshop on July 13.

ART ON PAPER WITH MARGRETHE AANESTAD
TUESDAYS—July 14, 21, & 28; August 4—12 PM; $35 ($30 ASF Members)

Norwegian artist Margrethe Aanestad’s “Art on Paper” series introduces the tactile qualities of artmaking materials, focusing on exploration and process rather than outcomes. Participants will experiment with a range of techniques across sessions while also engaging with relevant art history and contemporary art. Each class invites a meditative and attentive approach and concludes with supportive group reflections.
