The Gingerbread City at the Seaport
December 4–28 | 19 Fulton Street | Free
Throughout the holiday season, after your visit to the South Street Seaport Museum and tour of the 1908 lightship Ambrose, see a confectionary recreation of the beloved ship nestled among other feats of gingerbread wonder at the seasonal pop-up exhibition, The Gingerbread City® presented by the Museum of Architecture.
This year’s magical metropolis made from cookies, candy, and frosting celebrates imagination and play. This theme, The Playful City, asks: What would our cities look like if joy, curiosity, and imagination led the design? In addition to the Seaport Museum’s lightship, architects and designers contributed to this scrumptious fantasy skyline of ginger buildings, sugary modes of transportation, and tasty twirling parts that are sure to wow visitors of all ages at the Seaport.
Tickets to visit this exhibition are free and available through the Museum of Architecture separately from the admission tickets to the South Street Seaport Museum.
