27 Nov Central Perk Coffeehouse Announces Opening Date of Highly Anticipated First New York City Location
Beloved FRIENDS Hangout Opens on December 5 in Times Square with Reimagined Design and Exclusive Menu Items Inspired by the Iconic Series
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Central Perk Coffee Co., and CenPer Holdings, LLC, proudly announce the official opening of Central Perk Coffeehouse Times Square — located at 20 Times Square (NE corner of 7th Avenue & 47th Street) — set for December 5, 2025.
Drawing inspiration from the beloved setting and hallmarks of the iconic FRIENDS coffeehouse, the new Central Perk has been reimagined as a modern neighborhood gathering spot at the crossroads of the world. Featuring contemporary design elements and expansive glass windows that invite visitors in, the Times Square location seamlessly blends nostalgic references with modern New York energy. From its central location in the heart of Times Square to a food and beverage menu that balances series-inspired favorites with location-specific creations, Central Perk Coffeehouse is designed to spark new moments, memories, and connections.
Guests can savor a variety of hand-crafted drinks that blend creative flavor profiles with playful nods to the show’s most memorable moments.
Two exclusive NYC signature creations debut with the Times Square opening:
- The One with NYC Matcha, a layered iced matcha latte blended with oat milk, featuring rich strawberry purée, and topped with a savory cream cheese cold foam. When mixed, it evokes the flavors of strawberry-matcha cheesecake.
- NY Relaxi Taxi Tall Iced Cooler playfully references a common directive amongst the characters to “relax.” Made with half lemonade and half iced green tea, brightened with lavender syrup, and finished with sparkling water and a lemon wheel for a taxi-yellow accent, it’s an antidote to the hustle and bustle of Times Square.
Fan-favorite beverages from Central Perk Coffeehouse Boston will also make their NYC debut, including best-sellers Chandler’s Chocolate Cold Foam Latte, Blended Princess Consuela’s Banana Mocha, and Oh.My.Gawd! Coldbrew.
Central Perk Coffeehouse will feature an equally enticing selection of culinary creations designed to pair perfectly with its beverage offerings. Leading the food menu is The Tribbiani, a signature sandwich created by Top Chef and James Beard Award–winning chef Tom Colicchio as a tribute to outspoken sandwich lover Joey Tribbiani. This exclusive NYC menu item features freshly sliced prosciutto, soppressata, capicola, cotta, coppa, and provolone, layered with lettuce, giardiniera, olive oil, and vinegar on semolina hero bread — a true New York classic. Alongside Tom’s signature creation is a lineup that includes favorites like Joey’s Meatball Sandwich, Rachel’s Green “Side” Salad, Weekend at Caesars Salad, Mama’s Little Bakery Cheesecake, and more.
The Central Perk Coffeehouse menu offers an elevated experience where coffee craftsmanship inspires a modern café menu — thoughtfully created to celebrate flavor, comfort, and connection for fans and food enthusiasts alike.
“For me, food has always been about bringing people together, and that’s exactly what Central Perk represents,” said Tom Colicchio, Top Chef and James Beard Award–winning chef. “Having the opportunity to help guide the menu for such an iconic concept in the middle of New York City is a thrill — ‘The Tribbiani’ nods to the world of FRIENDS while standing proudly as a sandwich New Yorkers will both respect and crave every day.”
Like the Boston location, the Times Square space will also feature artwork by renowned pop artist Burton Morris, whose vibrant, high-energy works appeared in more than 130 episodes of FRIENDS. The installation features his iconic Empire State Building image, prominently displayed throughout the series and now showcased as a large-scale graphic facing the exterior, as well as the instantly recognizable Coffee Cup image, which will adorn the wall between the coffee bar and the Orange Room. Together these pieces infuse Morris’ bold pop-art aesthetic, adding a colorful, nostalgic touch that complements the space’s modern design.
“When we opened in Boston, the response showed us how much appetite there is for a real-world Central Perk, and how seamlessly the concept integrated into the existing neighborhood culture,” said Paul Landino, CenPer Holdings, LLC, Company Executive. “Now in New York, we’re excited to build on that energy with our enhanced menu and Tom’s signature offering, a refreshed design inspired by the show, and experiences that will feel both nostalgic and brand new.”
Central Perk Coffeehouse will offer fans exclusive, newly created merchandise available only at its Times Square location. Visitors can also enjoy Central Perk Coffee Co.’s six original coffee blends—available in ground, whole bean, and compostable capsule formats—at both the New York City and Boston locations (205 Newbury St). For those who prefer to brew at home, the blends are available online at centralperk.com and at select H-E-B grocery stores.
