Battery Park Montessori

New York’s first trilingual Montessori school, Battery Park Montessori sits on the Hudson River waterfront in Battery Park City. Light-filled classrooms and patio space enable our children to stay grounded in their natural environment.

Our trilingual Montessori programs, which begin at age 1 and continue until Kindergarten, are designed to give your child a strong and joyful foundation for learning and life. We offer full day language immersion in both Spanish and Mandarin, with the option to add early and after care.

Respect for the individual child’s development and potential is at the core of everything we do. Montessori-trained, native language speaking educators nurture confidence, responsibility, and a love for our planet in our students. Our teachers foster independence, exploration, collaboration, and the building of trust in our children.

In an authentic Montessori program, the child, environment, and teacher create a learning triangle. Dr. Maria Montessori and researchers have since found that when children work in such environments – ones where the parameters are clear and where teachers respect children’s developmental differences and interests – there is a sense of trust which allows deep concentration and learning to take place.

We are proud to offer this exceptional, time-tested, and research-based global model in our gorgeous natural setting against the sublime backdrop of the Hudson River. Battery Park Montessori is a member school of the American Montessori Society.

We invite you to come observe our unique program that seamlessly integrates the Montessori Method with cutting-edge research on child development and language acquisition. Witness the joy with which our children explore and question the world around them, fostering curiosity and laying essential foundations for future success.
