Sunday Story Time: The Cat and the Bird: A Children’s Book Inspired by Paul Klee
This month we are reading all things animals as we celebrate The New York Historical’s Pets and the City exhibition! In 1928 an artist named Paul Klee created a painting called Cat and Bird. Then, author Géraldine Elschner and illustrator Peggy Nille created a book imagining the friendship between that cat and that bird! When the bird frees the cat from her home, she goes dancing on the rooftops of the city! After the story, make your own Cat and Bird picture inspired by Paul Klee’s artwork and Peggy Nille’s illustrations!
