Produced by Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc., the New York City Unicycle Festival brings together recreational riders, world-class performers, mountain and off-road unicycle enthusiasts, mono—wheel vehicle inventors, and thousands of people who have not ridden in umpteen years, along with circus enthusiasts, extreme sports viewers, and anyone seeking an unusual sight –even for NYC!

40th ANNUAL RICHMOND COUNTRY FAIR
As Staten Island’s only County Fair, the grounds of Historic Richmond Town will host one of the biggest, longest running and well-attended festivals in the county – all while supporting local businesses and authentic Staten Island staples!

JAPAN PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL
Japan Performing Arts, Inc. is bringing the Japanese summer experience of Bon Odori dances to Governors Island. During the Obon summer holiday every August, people dance Bon Odori at festivals all over Japan. This Governors Island event is notable for bringing Japan’s Big Three Bon Odori dances into one venue, including Nishimonai Bon Odori from Akita, Gujo Odori from Gifu, and Awa Odori from Tokushima. Governors Island visitors will have hands-on Bon Odori dance sessions and more Japanese summer festival experiences here in New York.

Catch the sun and chase your shadow. Use your body, props, paper and the sun’s rays to create art and tell stories of all things under the sun.

27TH ANNUAL TUGBOAT RACE
Be right in the action on the Circle Line Sightseeing Spectator Boat at the 27th annual Great North River Tugboat Race & Competition!
Get onboard the Spectator Boat and see the whole event up-close. Cruise with the Parade of Boats, and even race alongside the tugs in the big race! Boarding begins at 10:15 am, departure is at 10:30am from pier 83–so you’ll be on the water before the parade!
Watch epic battles for supremacy in the on-water nose-to-nose pushing and then the line-toss contests when tugs arrive at the finish line at Pier 84.
There is more fun for the whole family after the race on Pier 84! After tugboats tie up at the pier, kids of all ages can test their mettle in the amateur line-toss competition or try their luck in the ever-popular spinach-eating contest. Stay around for the fun on trophies awarded for winners of best dressed tug crew, best female & male tattoo and best mascot.
