An Orange in January
Saturday January 22, 11am – 12:15pm

Did you know that oranges are often sweeter and juicier during winter? Learn about the journey of an orange from the tree to your lunchbox while reading An Orange in January by Dianna Hutts Aston. Then, taste some juicy oranges and other orange foods. We will also observe an orange animal guest, do a STEM activity using candy orange slices, and create a collage using all orange materials. One parent per child.

Wonderful Wizards Workshop

Be transported onto the secretive world of wizards and witches in Snapology’s Wizarding program, inspired by the Harry Potter™ film series! In this program, students will explore their favorite aspects of the film series by exploring all that makes Hogwarts and learning magic so— well, magical! Students will create the castle they love, make maps to navigate it, be sorted into their house and repeatedly express the pride of their house.

Family Day: Building Bridges

New York City has many fascinating bridges, from the historic Brooklyn Bridge to more contemporary examples. What kind of bridge would you design for NYC? Families will learn about different types of bridges and how they work, then create their own bridges to span one of NYC’s rivers, canals, or busy streets. Family Day Programs are designed for children ages 5 – 13 years old, accompanied by an adult.

Back by popular demand, we reintroduce The Chocolate Makery at the Jewish Children’s Museum.
A mouthwatering experience where children will gain a wealth of knowledge on this exciting journey. Children will join in the fun as they harvest the cocoa pods, grind and roast the beans to molding their very own delicious chocolate creation!
