Kinderhaus Brooklyn

The property

Since its inception as NYC’s first German preschool in 2009, Kinderhaus Brooklyn is proud to offer specified German immersion programs for the local and international community of NYC. Kinderhaus is dedicated to providing a warm and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to assume a significant role in inventing and shaping their own themes and projects while being fully immersed in the German language and culture. Highly qualified teachers from Germany offer rich and versatile programs with a focus on self-guided learning and outdoor activities. The accredited and research-based curriculum focuses on the whole child and is designed to support the ability to learn progressively, through analytical and reflective thinking and problem-solving skills. We strongly believe in the importance of free play in children’s social-emotional development, and we provide age-specific lesson plans that are aligned to K-12 standards and that significantly exceed New York State Common Core standards. Our year-round programs include full-time dayschool (ages 1-5), theme-based afterschool (ages 1-13), summercamp/minicamps (ages 2-8), as well as outdoor programs in Prospect Park. Children can attend Kinderhaus programs daily from 8:30am to 6:00pm.
