American Tap Dance Foundation Youth Programs for Children and Teens
American Tap Dance Foundation youth programs for children and teens teach students about America’s own indigenous art form – Tap Dance. Our distinguished faculty shares their knowledge of the artistry and history of tap with each student in a fun, safe and supportive environment. ATDF classes give students a chance to become immersed in tap culture. Classes focus on developing clean technique, learning classic and contemporary tap repertory, and building music and improvisation skills. Tap history, films, jazz music, and special guests deepen students' appreciation of this great American art form.
With our new initiatives, “Tap Explorations” we’ll be bringing our ATDF Artists in Residence right into our classrooms this year to work directly with our youth program students including:
• Informal class performances
• Teaching and sharing ideas that are unique to their perspective as an artist
• Exploring improvisation & creative skills
