09 Nov Cool Winter Camps for NYC Kids
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite camps to cover your winter recess child care needs. City kids can take to the stage, make some art, meet animals up close, dance, and so much more. Best of all though, they’ll have memory-making fun during their breaks from school.
HiArt!’s Arty Paradise
Whether at our light-filled studio in Chelsea or in Japan, HiArt! has planned the Happiest Holidays ever for 2017. HIArt!’s Arty Paradise runs from December 26-29 with Becky Brown leading workshops in Sol Lewitt, Elizabeth Murray and more! Little kids + adult stay for half day and kids K and up stay the whole day on their own. Big Kids’ yummy lunch always included (Moms never need to worry about preparing – Hooray!). Full and half day Manga Madness options with Marlena Konglau will also be available. From ages 3-16!
TADA! Youth Theater Winter Camps
When school is out TADA! is in. Children, ages 4-14, can explore the world of acting, singing, and dancing in special 1-Day, 4-Day, or Week-Long Mini Camps that focus on the core elements of musical theater through theater games, comedic improvisation, and dramatic play.
Your rising star will master cool dance moves and sing their heart out while creating their own mini-musical based on the camp’s theme!

Central Park Zoo/Prospect Park Zoo Winter Camp
Don’t be left out in the cold! Send your animal lover to Central Park Zoo or Prospect Park Zoo Winter Camp! Between December 26-29, your camper will get to explore animal diversity, visit our exhibits (and get to see our cold weather animals during their favorite time of the year!), participate in educational games and activities, and best of all, meet some of our animal ambassadors up close.
At Prospect Park Zoo, you can choose to have your camper attend single days or all four days. Each day campers will journey to a new region to discover the amazing ways animals adapt to life in exotic locations as they meet animals up close and explore animal habitats.
At Central Park Zoo, campers will explore the diversity around the animal kingdom. Investigating invertebrates and marveling at mammals is all part of the fun!
All of our zoos also offer a Mid-Winter Break Camp from February 19-23. Your campers can spend their break at the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo or Queens Zoo!
