SUMMARY:After School Art Explorers at Jewish Museum
DESCRIPTION:Preschoolers and elementary school-aged children are invited to explore and create during these drop-in Tuesday afternoon sessions. Inspired by artworks on view, families will encounter different art-making activities, such as printmaking, mixed-media collages, or sculpture projects.
This program is led by a Museum Educator and assisted by Teen Interns.
November 18: Mixed Media Nature Patterns
Use rubbing plates to transfer textures to paper, and layer with other colorful papers and natural materials to create a nature collage.
December 2: Cardboard Constructions
Use paint, recycled cardboard, textured papers, and other found objects to construct a relief design inspired by Louise Nevelson’s sculpture Three Night Figures.
December 16: Hanukkah Light Mobiles
Create a mobile from tissue paper and clear laminating sheets to celebrate the Festival of Lights.
Free with RSVP.
